Valentine's Weekend

Yesterday I received a lovely bunch of red roses (delivered) from my darling husband and then I was taken out to lunch. Well we all know what restaurants mean...

I made healthier choices than usual though. They all had starters so I had an avo and mango salad. It was so yum. For mains I had grilled codfish and veggies (no potatoes in any form). So I'm kinda proud of myself. My only indulgence was a bottle of JC le Roux champagne and it was wonderful.

As you get to know me better you will discover that usually my biggest failure in weight loss is the alcohol thing. I just love sweet girly drinks and to be honest I would rather have them than food, but yeah that's not how life works.

So today came around and I had to have some more JC le Roux and there went my resolution not to drink at home. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

I will not give up!

The scale

I logged in to my long lost Sparkpeople account today and reset my goals. So the first thing I had to do was weigh myself. It was horrible! I regained everything I lost last year, which I already knew, but the 5 kg's extra was a shock! I feel utterly depressed BUT not demotivated. It was a wake up call. This is the heaviest I've been since about 1995.

A change is long overdue.

I just have to say that all the weight loss blogs I read motivates me so much! Thank you guys and gals!

It's been a while...

...but I'm trying to get back on track..

As with most people that are trying to lose weight unsuccessfully, I have picked up the bit I lost and then some.

My dad passed away in June, although this is no excuse because I fell off the wagon long before that. It actually started when I injured my knee last year and I just never came back.

So here we go again. I still have to brave the scale...

The biggest thing I need to give up is drinking. I'm afraid I've just used that as my comfort for the last year, but no more.

I bought an exercise bike last month and starting using it on Monday.

Baby steps!

We can do this together!
